Who's in charge?
Alan Lord founded the Guitar School in 1993 and has been teaching guitar and bass full time for 17 years. He has worked as a professional guitarist for 40 years and is currently performing (as well as teaching) with the Kopycat Kinks and the Sixties Experience

From 10 am Monday to Saturday
Teaching methods:
Simple and effective, the idea is to get the student playing up to performance level as quickly as possible. Students are taught a little theory and then shown how to put that theory into practice in either a song or a guitar solo. Styles covered are: - rock, blues, punk and finger-picking. All techniques are covered in depth, string bending, vibrato, hammer ons, pull offs, legato, string muting, finger picking and more. Scales and improvisation are studied continuously as students’ progress from beginner onwards
Where are we?
Conveniently placed on the High Street in Lees, close to Oldham and Saddleworth. The Guitar School offers a purpose designed tuition studio on the 2nd floor of the Bodymatters Gym building. There are toilet facilities, plus a cosy reception area with refreshments

£16.00 for a 30 minute private 1 to 1 lesson (includes free weekly jam sessions) |
