Across the road from Hazeldean are lovely walks along the River Stour. The house Thomas Hardy lived in can be seen when walking to Sturminster Newton Mill forming part of the Hardy Way. Our town has some wonderful shops and we are ideally situated for visiting many of Dorset's finest towns. The National Trust properties of Stourhead and Kingston Lacy are a short drive away. The jurrassic coastline is about an hours drive and well worth a visit.
